Current Cast

Edie Magoun

Edie Magoun considers herself a triple Hollywood threat: Writer. Director. Dog Walker. Tomboys in Fishnets is not the first all-girl group Edie has headed up. Her first girl gang was in Toledo, Ohio where at the age of four she founded the group “the kissing girls.” (What better way to get rid of boys then to threaten to kiss them?) A tomboy by nature she played football with the boys and was too fast to be tackled until the boys got bigger and cuter and she found other uses for them.

The creator of Tomboys in Fishnets Edie also does the bulk of the writing, directing, editing, website building, promotion, photoshop and marketing. Oh yes. And craft services which always includes beer and wine.

Emilie Tisdale

Emilie Tisdale grew up in the artistically diverse town of Charlottesville, Virginia. With the full support of her parents, Emilie was free to explore anything that sparked her interest. She studied theatre, art and dance and mastered the skill of tree climbing, all by the tender age of eleven. After moving to NY and LA she quickly received many lead roles in independent films and won numerous awards for her performances.

In addition to Emilie’s talents as an actor she is also Tomboys’ resident set dresser. So far transforming Edie’s apartment into both a restaurant and a bar. She also helps run camera and has participated in the writing of Happy Hour and Dixie Dimwit.

Phalana Tiller

Phalana Tiller was raised between Botswana in Southern Africa and Virginia, with a couple of years spent on a Danish commune in Tanzania. Phalana has a BA and an MA from the University of Virginia. After college she worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. perfecting her lobbying and acting skills. After some some not-so-compelling months as a baby politico, she quickly hightailed it to NYC where she honed her skills in indie films and in numerous print and TV commercials. She was also a vee-jay on MTV2 and starred in a popular South African sitcom.

Nova Sheppard

Nova Sheppard is a founding member of Tomboys in Fishnets. Nova starred as True, a prostitute with a heart of gold, in the indie film “Wish,” which was first runner-up in the Dances with Films Festival. She also appeared in a Guest Starring role in the pilot “The Chris Casper Show.” A skilled improvisor, Nova has improvised her way all over Los Angeles and Toronto, most notably at “Second City.” You could also see her selling gemstones on Direct Shopping Network every Monday night! That was till she ran off to live with a boy in Spain. We all miss her very much and hope she returns soon.

Julie Santos

Julie Santos is a Costa Rican immigrant who is a recent graduate of UC Santa Barbara with a double Global Studies & Cultural Anthropology major. She was a member of The Multi Cultural Drama Company for three years where she starred in such pieces as Faded Colors, Corpsies, Rampage and Evil Fun House. Also, an accomplished director for stage Julie directed multiple pieces which she also wrote and helped produce. As a spoken word artist she has won multiple contests as well as having the honor of being the guest performer for many grass roots organizations including “Take Back The Night” and “The Culture Lounge” among others.
